THE DEMAGOGUE

Adolf Hitler started the World War 11 by invading Poland in 1939 much in defiance of the peace Treaty of Versaille. His rabble rousing speeches initially earned him fame and social acceptance. The consequence of this character became an inquisitive study in the psychopathic nature of mankind. He was born April 20 1889 in Austria-Hungary and committed suicide on April 30 1945 in Berlin. He moved to Germany and joined the Army in World War 1 in 1919 and enlisted with German Workers Party. In 1921 he rose to the leadership of the German Party. Due to his attempt In 1923 to seize the leadership of his party that failed, he was jailed and released in 1924. While in prison he wrote his book Mein Keimpf (“My Struggle”). Events during this

period began to underscore Hitlers leadership ambition with his prolific rabble rousing speeches. He brainwashed the Germans that they were a superior race

destined to rule the world. The Nazi party was the biggest in the Reichstag (parliament) but had no majority. The parliament persuaded the president to appoint Hitler as the chancellor and on 30 Jan 1933, Hitler was made the Chancellor. Thereafter His anti-Semitic hatred and that of capitalism began to establish through his policy and the Holocaust, his subterranean,

extermination of the Jews, began in ernest and by the end of the war over 6000,000 Jews had been exterminated in gas chambers held by the Germans across Europe. The World War 11 also resulted in the death of over 50 million victims.

Benito Mussolini

He was an Italian politician and journalist and leader of the National Fascist party. He was born on July 29, 1883 and ruled Italy as the Prime Minister was wwith the iron hand of a dictator from 1922 to 1943, he was deposed and executed in 1945 by firing squad. To him, “I don’t believe in perpetual peace” “Let us have a dagger between our teeth, a bomb in our hands, and an infinite scorn in our heart.” He took the title “11 Duce” meaning “the Leader”, which comes from the root “duke” is from. He accompanied Hitler in prosecuting the “World War 11”. He led Italy to military victory in Libya, Somalia, Ethiopia and Albania. He wanted to resurrect Italy as the ancient Roman Empire with him being the Emperor. He was a restless and a disobedient child, very unruly and aggressive and a bully. His brilliance and success showed in his academic performance. His rabble rousing qualities evident in his rhetorical fluency. He was a voracious leader who virtually read and studied philosophers like Immanuel Kant, Benedicta de Spinoza, Peter Kropotkin, Friedrich Nietzche, G. W. F. Hegel and many other philosophers of his time from where he evolved his own political doctrines. Several times he was arrested and imprisoned when he returned to Italy. Thereafter he became the youngest Italian Prime Minister in October 31, 1922
